Carsen Edwards goes for 23 on 8-of-16 shooting with Maine Red Claws

Boston Celtics rookie point guard Carsen Edwards continued to turn around his early-season funk with the maine Red Claws Sunday.

Playing with Boston’s G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, the Purdue product logged 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting, looking more like the sharpshooting energy scorer the Celtics drafted than he has since Boston’s preseason.

Edwards got a little extra run with two way guard Tremont Waters up with the parent club to help cover for starting Celtics floor general Kemba Walker missing time due to a sore knee, and the Houston native got a chance to try out his own chops as a one as a result.

Evidently it suited him.

Two way teammate Tacko Fall only played 15 minutes due to foul trouble,  but managed to record 9 points, 7 rebounds and a block over the stretch.

The Red Claws came away with a 108-107 win over the College Park Skyhawks (the G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards), their eighth victory in nine games.
