Cars vandalised with 'move' spray painted on and windows smashed in overnight rampage

A number of cars were vandalised with the word 'MOVE' spray painted on and their windows were smashed in an overnight rampage.

The shocking incident sparked a fiery debate about 'pavement parking', reports Manchester Evening News.

Residents in Greater Manchester were shocked to wake up one morning to find their vehicles damaged and defaced. Images circulated on social media show at least three cars were affected.

The incident caused a real stir on Facebook, with many people quick to give their thoughts on the damage to the cars. Many people have claimed the vehicles were targeted due to their placement on the pavement.

One person said: "Unfortunately a lot of our streets aren't wide enough for the amount of cars to park up so sometimes it's necessary to park partly on the pavement.

"I know and can understand how this isn't good, but they should leave enough room for disability scooters and prams."

Another person said the way the cars are parked meant buggies and wheelchairs would not be able to get through, branding it 'not acceptable'. However, others defended the drivers saying regardless of what happened the attacks on their cars were undeserved.

Manchester Evening News contacted Greater Manchester Police for comment on the incident.
