Cars stolen from Kilmarnock street during early-morning raid as police launch appeal

Cars were stolen and a house was broken into during an early-morning raid in East Ayrshire.

The incidents happened in Kilmarnock's Burns Crescent in the Southcraigs area of the town.

Police say they are investigating a housebreaking and the theft of an unspecified number of cars between 3am and 3.30am yesterday.

Officers say that, around this time, further vehicle crime occurred which is forming part of their probe.

Now an appeal for witnesses and information has been launched, with police keen to speak to people who might be able to assist with their enquiries as they bid to trace those responsible for what happened.

A statement on East Ayrshire police's Twitter page reads: "We are investigating a housebreaking and theft of cars between 3am and 3.30am on 11/1/22 at Burns Crescent, Southcraigs, Kilmarnock.

"Around this time period further vehicle crimes occurred. Did you hear or see anything? Can you help? If so, please contact 101 quoting incident number 0373/11."
