Cars stolen and damaged in disturbance at event to remember young Swansea man found dead

A number of vehicles were stolen and damaged during an event held to pay tribute to a young man who had died in Swansea.

Police were called at 5pm on Tuesday following reports of a disturbance near the Mason Arms in Waunarlwydd.

Officers said around 30 people were causing the trouble and a number of vehicles were stolen and then damaged.

It is understood the event taking place at the time was to pay tribute to a 25-year-old man who was found dead at 10.30am on September 21 in Mayals Road.

Officers were called to the area in Swansea last weekend following reports of a sudden death . The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Local Police Inspector Emma Fox said: “This was an isolated incident when a group of people came together in memory of a person who died.

“This type of behaviour will not be tolerated and we are investigating and we will take action against those responsible.”
