A car was spotted hurtling down the wrong way of a slip road off the A55 in north Wales. The incident, which happened at around 2.30pm on Monday (October 31) in Conwy, saw two vehicles having to swerve to avoid the oncoming car, North Wales Live reports.
It is unclear whether the vehicle had driven the wrong way down the main A55 road or just the slip road. The incident took place near Threeways Garage in Abergele, Conwy.
One worried onlooker described the incident as a "near miss" given the fact that two vehicles had to avoid the oncoming car. The witness said: "I didn't see where the car had come from, whether it had come off the A55 or not, but it was coming down the slip road the wrong way and two cars had to swerve out of the way to avoid it."
They continued: "The car then just joined the roundabout the correct way and drove off. It was very strange, it was a near miss really - thankfully the two cars driving towards it weren't going faster as there could easily have been a collision.
"It's not really what you expect to see in the middle of the afternoon. Thankfully it was relatively quiet, traffic-wise."
