Cars on six streets have tyres slashed as vandals run riot on Christmas Day in South Queensferry

Cars on six South Queensferry streets had their tyres slashed as thoughtless vandals ran riot on Christmas Day.

Dozens of vehicles parked in the town were targeted between Friday night and Saturday morning, with police now investigating the rampage.

As reported by the Daily Record, cars and vans in Echline View, Echline Avenue, Stoneyflatts, Stewart Terrace, Station Road and Lawson Crescent were all damaged. A car sitting outside the church's manse was also vandalised.

One resident said that as many as 20 to 30 vehicles had been targeted.

Police Scotland say their enquiries are ongoing, and they want any potential witnesses to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we have received reports about a number of car tyres being vandalised overnight between Friday, 25 December and Saturday, 26 December on Echline Avenue and surrounding streets in South Queensferry.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 1178 of 26 December."
