These were the busy scenes at the Storey Arms area on Good Friday.
Cars were parked long both sides of the A470 as people made the most of the dry weather and the easing to travel restrictions in time for the bank holiday weekend. These pictures were taken around 10am, and showed a line of people heading up Pen Y Fan, and queuing for food at the bottom.
The Storey Arms is a regular hotspot for families heading for southern Britain’s highest peak. This weekend people will also be making the most of the lifting on travel restrictions in Wales. From March 27, people have been allowed to travel anywhere within Wales.
But with only around 50 parking spaces at Pont ar Daf car park, just off the A470, the area can quickly become overwhelmed when it comes to parking. The Brecon Beacons National Authority said: "As lockdown has been eased in Wales we are expecting lots of visitors in the Brecon Beacons this weekend."

On Good Friday, the authority also said that it was busy around the waterfalls in the area. At 11am, they said that the Pontneddfechan and Comin y Rhos cars park were full. A spokesman said: "Check our car parks update page before leaving and have a back up plan in place. Please don't park dangerously or illegally."
Traffic monitoring system Inrix was showing heavier traffic than normal on the A470 around Merthyr, on the M4 in Carmarthenshire, on Oystermouth Road in Swansea heading towards Mumbles and on the A465 in Neath. The reason given is an increase in holiday traffic.
