The front end of the Micra was crumpled against a wall whilst the second car was also badly damaged.

A paramedic vehicle was also visible, but, remarkably, no one was injured police confirmed.

However, they said one driver was found to not to have a full licence and would now be prosecuted.

GMP's Cheetham and Crumpsall neighbourhood police team said on Twitter: " #TransportUnit attended this RTC tonight on Derby Street, Cheetham Hill.

"Despite the extensive damage no-one was hurt believe it or not....but the driver of the Micra was found to not have a proper licence and will now be going to Court (probably on the bus)."
