Cars collide on Cambuslang street

Two cars collided in an accident on a Cambuslang street on Monday afternoon.

The smash happened on Croft Road just after 3pm, with police officers and a fire crew being called to the scene.

Eyewitnesses to the aftermath shared how the street was closed off between Johnston Drive and Hamilton Road, on its bridge section which carries the road over the railway line.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3.05pm on Monday, March 27, to reports of a road traffic collision in Cambuslang.

“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the town’s Croft Road, where firefighters were met by a collision involving two vehicles.

“Crews worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene. There were no casualties.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 3.05pm on Monday, March 27, officers were called to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Croft Road, Cambuslang.

“The drivers exchanged details and arrangements were made for the vehicles to be uplifted.”
