Carryduff house gutted after large fire breaks out

A house in Carryduff has been gutted following a large fire.

The NI Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene in the Meadowvale Park area at 1.10pm yesterday afternoon.

No one was in the property, which is understood to belong to an elderly couple, when the blaze broke out.

Six fire appliances in total attended the scene to deal with the blaze - two fire appliances from Central Fire Station, one from Carryduff and a Turntable Appliance from Knock Fire Station along with another Fire Appliance.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the incident was dealt with by 3.27pm on Tuesday.
