Carrie Symonds sent daily messages of support and baby scans to Boris Johnson as he recovered in hospital from coronavirus, it has been reported.
The Prime Minister was taken out of intensive care yesterday but remains at St. Thomas' Hospital where he is being kept under close supervision.
Aides say Boris is in "good spirits" and and is now back walking as his overall condition improves.
A source told the Sun : “It’s been a very, very worrying time for Carrie.
"She has been urging Boris to get well for their unborn child.”
The engaged couple have not seen each other for over a month over concerns for Carrie who is isolating while pregnant.
Boris, 55, has used the time off to watch his favourite movies - including Withnail and I and JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy - as he recuperates in hospital.
He is also reported to have finally watched Love Actually.
The PM has also expressed his deep gratitude to staff at St. Thomas' who he believes likely saved his life - but it remains unclear when he will be able to return to action.
A No 10 spokeswoman added: “He has spoken to his doctors and thanks the whole clinical team for the incredible care he has received.
“His thoughts are with those affected by this terrible disease.”
After three days in intensive care, Mr Johnson was moved out onto a ward last night shortly before the 8pm 'Clap for Carers'.
Today his spokesman said: "The Prime Minister is back on a ward and continuing his recovery which is at an early stage. He continues to be in very good spirits."
The Sun reported he phoned his heavily pregnant fiancee Carrie Symonds as soon as doctors handed him back his phones.
Mr Johnson's father Stanley today said his son almost "took one for the team" and his illness should highlight how anyone can be laid low by Covid-19.
Downing Street has not commented on when the PM might be discharged from hospital, saying it will be a decision for his doctors.
Mr Johnson Senior has suggested the PM - who experts say could taken weeks to recover full health - should recuperate at his grace-and-favour country retreat Chequers.
Coronavirus has wreaked its grimmest day yet on the UK after the number of daily deaths passed the peaks in Spain and Italy for the first time.
But while in hospital the grim death toll from coronavirus has continued to grow and will will likely raise fresh questions about the speed of the UK government's response.
Some 8,958 people died in the UK after testing positive for Covid-19 as of 5pm yesterday - a rise of 980 on the day before.
The daily rise of 980 outstrips the UK's previous biggest jump of 938.
