Carrie Fisher says she will always feel something for Harrison Ford after revealing Star Wars affair

Days after Carrie Fisher revealed she and Harrison Ford did have an affair on the set of the Star Wars films, she has said she will always "feel something" for the actor.

Fisher’s latest book The Princess Diarist confirms the long-existing rumour that the two lead actors, who played Princess Leia and Han Solo respectively, were romantically involved during filming of the Sci-fi classic.

Though their relationship only lasted a few months, Fisher says the love she felt for her co-star remains.

“Yes, I love him,” she told the Guardian. “I’ll always feel something for him.

“I love Mark [Hamil] too, but I love Mark more like a sibling. You can’t pretend something for so long without some of it coming true.”

While writing her memoir, the 60-year-old revisited some of her teenage diaries which described the love she felt for Ford who was 14 years her senior at the time. She describes in depth the insecurity she felt about their relationship and the intense love she had for Ford which appeared to not be reciprocated.

“I don’t think, until now, he knew the intensity of my feelings,” she told the newspaper.  “Even in the diary I don’t like to admit it because it’s a failure. No it’s not a failure – it’s unreciprocated love. Which I guess is a type of failure.”

Discussing why she chose to open up about the relationship after years of public denial, Fisher, who claims she and Ford have not spoken about the affair since, said: “It wasn’t just my secret to keep.”

“I told him I was writing the book and I would give it to him and if he didn’t like anything in it I would take it out and he seemed surprised at that. Then I called him and said I’m going to send it to you and I did and I never heard it from him.”

The two recently starred together again for J.J. Abrams’ long-awaited Star Wars sequel The Force Awakens which was released last year.

Representatives for Ford did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
