Boris Johnson’s newborn daughter has already been given a sweet nickname by her mother Carrie.
Carrie, 37, announced on Sunday that their daughter, born last Wednesday, has been named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson — but at home, she’s affectionately called “Pops” or “Pop Tart.”
Sharing the news on Instagram, she wrote: “Welcome to the world Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson born on 21st May. Aka Pops, Pop Tart. I can’t believe how pretty and tiny you are. Feel so incredibly lucky. We are all totally smitten.”
The baby girl is Boris Johnson’s ninth child and the couple’s third together. Carrie added: “Not sure I’ve slept a minute since you were born as can’t stop looking at how completely lovely you are.”
The Johnsons celebrated Poppy’s arrival with pizza and cocktails, while the new addition slept soundly on Carrie’s lap.
Boris and Carrie were married in July 2021 and already share sons Wilfred, five, and Frank, one, and daughter Romy, three.
In addition, Boris has five other children with two other women, with the earliest being journalist Lara Lettice Johnson Wheeler, 30, born in 1993.
He has four children with his ex-wife Marina Wheeler and one with former mistress Helen Macintyre.
However, his exact number of children remains in doubt as a possible tenth child was once alluded to in court documents.
