Carrickfergus Road crash which claimed life of man sparks PSNI witness appeal for van driver

Police have issued a specific appeal for a van driver who may have witnessed a crash which claimed the life of a man to come forward.

The collision which happened on Monday, January 11 on Carrickfergus Road occurred at 9.15am and involved a car and a lorry.

Following up on their investigation, PSNI want to speak to a specific witness who was travelling on the road at the time.

Inspector Siobhan Watt said: “The two-vehicle collision on the Carrickfergus Road, close to the Ballylagan Road, Ballynure, was reported to police at approximately 9:15am, and involved a car and a lorry. 

“We would ask the driver of a white van towing a trailer believed to have been travelling ahead of the car involved in the collision, to please get in touch with police in the Collision Investigation Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 285 of 11/01/21.”
