Carrickfergus home attack being treated as sectarian hate crime

An attack on a Co Antrim home is being treated as a sectarian hate crime, police confirmed this morning.

They were called following an incident at a property in Sunnylands Grove, Carrickfergus , on Wednesday night, July 17.

A window was broken and paint was thrown at the house.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Police are investigating an attack on a house in Carrickfergus last night, Wednesday 17 July.

"At around 11.55pm it was reported that a window had been broken and paint thrown at a property in Sunnylands Grove.

"It’s understood four males may have been involved.

"Police are treating the incident as a sectarian hate crime and are appealing for information. Please call 101, quoting reference 2180 17/07/19."
