Carrick Rangers vs Warrenpoint Town: Stuart King seeking ruthless streak from players

Carrick Rangers boss Stuart King has urged his team to be more “ruthless” ahead of Tuesday night's game against Warrenpoint Town at the Loughshore Hotel arena.

Carrick lost 2-1 to Cliftonville at the weekend despite taking the lead at Solitude.

Manager King believes they should have been out of sight after missing numerous chances.

“It was horrible because we totally dominated the game in my opinion,” said King.

“We created clear-cut opportunity and should have left with three points.

“I was delighted with the performance, even though we were done by two set-pieces.

“It was encouraging, so we’ll be looking to put that right against Warrenpoint.”

Carrick led against Cliftonville through Lloyd Anderson but a double from Jamie Harney earned the Reds an opening day win.

Meanwhile, Warrenpoint Town came from behind to beat 10-man Ballymena United 2-1 at Milltown.

Kealan Dillon scored twice, including a penalty, after Paul McElroy had given the Sky Blues the lead.

Ballymena had Dougie Wilson sent off for a foul on Luke Wade-Slater which led to Dillon's penalty.
