Carrick Rangers boss Stuart King reads riot act after derby defeat

Stuart King read the riot act after Carrick Rangers suffered a 3-1 derby defeat to Larne on Monday.

Despite leading through David Cushley's penalty, Carrick shipped three goals as Larne earned their win at Taylors Avenue.

King blasted his players for capitulating after Tomas Cosgrove cancelled out Cushley's opener, with Ronan Hale and David McDaid also scoring to ease Larne to victory.

King told the BBC: "There was definitely character in our performance but it's another defeat. I'm not happy, it's a derby defeat.

"It means a lot to the fans and it means a lot to me. I'm not prepared to put up with it anymore so it needs to be sorted out."

The result was Carrick's sixth defeat on the bounce and leaves them in ninth spot in the Premiership.

During that run they have conceded 14 goals and scored just three.

King believes his players are "fighting for their careers" as the January transfer window approaches.

"The transfer window opens soon and a few boys might be fighting for their careers at my club," Kind added.

"In the first 35 minutes we bossed it but once we concede we go to pieces."
