Players from Carrick Rangers and Glentoran will pay tribute to Jerry Thompson at today's Danske Bank Premiership game.
It will be the first time Carrick have played since the funeral of Thompson who passed away on December 10.
The 24-year-old's family will also be in attendance at the Loughshore Hotel Arena.
Both teams will wear commemorative t-shirts during the warm-up and when walking out for the match.
Other tributes are expected to be held during the day.
Carrick have already confirmed they will retire the number 21 jersey worn by Thompson.
Speaking this week, Carrick Rangers boss Niall Currie said: “Jerry may only have joined our club in the summer but he had a massive impact on everyone.
“The decision to retire his shirt number is just one example of our tribute.
“On the pitch, our players will pay respect over time I’m sure by replicating the passion, heart and commitment Jerry brought to the Carrick jersey."
