A Carrick on Suir rugby club has paid a touching tribute after a young player tragically passed away unexpectedly.
Rian Anthony from Kilkenny tragically passed away unexpectedly sending shockwaves through the local community.
And in a touching social media post, a club spokesperson said Rian's sudden passing on Sunday has "left heartbreak and devastation with his teammates" as they offered condolences to his family.
The heartbreaking tribute read: "In memory of Rian Anthony.
"None of us can remember when Rian started rugby.
"He seems to have been with us forever. Any of us who had the pleasure of coaching him remember a well mannered and polite young man who always gave one hundred percent on the field.
"He made the number 7 jersey his own on every team he played and was one of the best tacklers ever to wear the jersey.
"Rian passed away on Sunday night and his passing has left heart break and devastation with his teammates and everyone associated with this club.
"Our deepest sympathies to Donal, Deirdre, Darragh and Kate. We deeply share your loss, and Rian will be with us in our hearts forever."
