Carragher and Neville on Arsenal and Man United's fates in the top four race after Chelsea win

Monday Night Football pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have had their say on how the race for the top four could finish following Chelsea's 2-0 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool and Manchester City are battling it out for the title ahead of a four-way fight for the last two remaining Champions League qualification places.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all jostling for position with only a few weeks left of the season and just five points between them.

By beating West Ham 2-0, the Blues moved up to third place, although they have played an extra game compared to their opponents.

Monday Night Football hammer Maurizio Sarri over 'strange' Eden Hazard comments

"I expected them to win tonight," said Carragher. "I said between them, Arsenal and Manchester United, it could go down right to the wire. Goal difference is slightly in Chelsea’s favour but I still don’t feel like I can fully trust them in some games."

Earlier on the show, the former Premier League defenders debated how the top four race could finish.

"I look at Tottenham’s fixtures, Man City is the one that obviously stands out," said Neville. "If you look at Arsenal’s fixtures, you’d say they’ve got the best run as they don’t play any of the top teams.

"But the problem they’ve got is they’ve got four away games and their shocking away from home. Chelsea have got Manchester United and away at Liverpool on Sunday, they’re two tough games.

'Witchcraft!' - Liverpool fans are terrified Hazard will end their title hopes after masterclass

"For United, I’d put Everton in there as a tough game, City and Chelsea, you’ve got the added complication for these teams of Europe as well, massive European games in between, you could not pick up.

"At the moment, Tottenham for me are the ones who will finish third because they’ve got four home games and they’re the ones I think can accumulate the points.

Jamie Carragher names the three Arsenal players who let Unai Emery down against Everton

"United, specifically, Ole himself said before the Wolves game they needed 15 points to get into the top four, so you look at the rest of those six matches, United have to win five of them. If they are to get top-four, they have to win big matches and that’s going to be a challenge."

According to Carragher, Spurs have to be considered the favourites, with Arsenal and Chelsea the most likely runners to fall at the final hurdle.

"I do think Spurs will make it," he said. "Arsenal, yes they’ve got better fixtures than Chelsea and United, but I’d be surprised if Arsenal won more than one away game - I don’t see them winning more than one.
