Caroline, or Change is offering free tickets to people called Caroline for its West End transfer

Never has it been so sweet to be a Caroline: the smash hit musical Caroline, or Change has announced anyone who shares the show's moniker will get a free ticket.

The critically-acclaimed musical, which was yesterday shortlisted for two Evening Standard Theatre Awards, will offer a complimentary ticket to any Carolines purchasing one or more accompanying tickets.

The unusual ticket offer can be redeemed either in person at the box office or when purchasing over the telephone.

It coincides with the show's West End transfer following successful runs at Chichester Festival Theatre and Hampstead Theatre. Olivier Award-winning actress Sharon D Clarke, described by Evening Standard critic Fiona Mountford as "magisterial " will reprise the title role.

The West End run of the Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori’s Civil Rights era musical will also adopt Chichester Festival Theatre’s Prologue scheme, which allows 16-25 year olds to get £5 tickets.

Caroline, Or Change will run at the Playhouse Theatre from November 20 and April 6 2019. For more information, visit hampsteadtheatre.com
