Caroline Flack tribute to be held in Leeds after Love Island star's tragic death

A tribute in honour of former Love Island presenter Caroline Flack will be held in Leeds city centre.

The TV presenter, 40, was found dead in her London flat on Saturday, February 15.

Her death has seen a number of high-profile figures and fans of the show criticise some sections of the media for the way in which celebrities are treated.

Now a group of women in Leeds have come together to show their support for the family of Caroline, but also to raise awareness about mental health.

Danielle Hindley, 35, is one of the joint organisers of the event, where women are being invited to wear black dresses outside Leeds Town Hall at 2pm on Sunday, March 1, in a show of solidarity with people who have suffered from mental health issues. It is hoped that more than 100 people will turn out.

Talking about the moment that she heard about Caroline's death, Danielle said: "I was heartbroken. I was getting ready to go out at the time and I just burst into tears."

The mum-of-one, who lives in Kippax, has attempted suicide twice in recent years.

However, she now wants to use her experiences to help others who are struggling.

"My issue is with the way in which Caroline Flack has been treated," said Danielle.

"I have felt it myself. People have talked sh*t about me over the years, but Caroline Flack had it a million times worse."
