Caroline Flack's secret kindness to spare Amy Hart's feelings on Love Island

Love Island contestant Amy Hart has spoken of Caroline Flack's kindness towards her during a difficult time on the show.

Amy Hart appeared on Love Island back in 2018 and was spared further humiliation following the Casa Amor recoupling by then-presenter Caroline Flack.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, former cabin crew member Amy shared how Caroline supported her when her boyfriend of four weeks chose to recouple with Jourdan Raine in Casa Amor instead of staying with her.

The Mirror reports in the main villa, Amy discovered she had fallen head over heels for the ballroom dancer while they were parted.

Blissfully unaware, the islander launched into a spiel about how much she loved Curtis yet little did she know he was about to bring a new bombshell back.

The Celebs Go Dating star remembered how Caroline squeezed her hand tightly during her speech to hint to her she needed to keep quiet.

She told GMB hosts: "Obviously, when I come back from Casa Amor, she [Caroline] was squeezing my hand, basically telling me to shut up because I was baring my soul when I shouldn't have been."

Caroline took her own life aged 40 at her London flat over the weekend following the news she would still stand trial on March 4.

Amy was heartbroken when she was dumped by Curtis on the show (ITV)

Flack had been accused of assault by beating following a row breaking out at her home with her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

She pleaded not guilty and her boyfriend always maintained her innocence.

On reflection of the terrible news, Amy expressed she was "really gutted" to hear Caroline had taken her own life.

She elaborated: "I was gutted, really gutted. All my love to her friends and family. I didn't know her that long but the changes she made for all of us [on Love Island], she went above and beyond her role."

Amy shared all the little ways Caroline had gone above and beyond her role at Love Island to make her feel safe and comfortable.

She said: "Caroline was a huge part of the biggest thing that has happened in my life. She was amazing from putting us all at ease in the breaks during filming saying, 'Are you alright, are you alright?'"

"At Aftersun, she sat me down at the after-party and told me how to move forward what industry is like."

Also, the air hostess recalled how Caroline reached out to her best friend online to offer her advice when she got distressed over Amy being swamped with death threats.

Having failed to find love on Love Island, Amy has since starred on Celebs Go Dating as she continues her quest to find long-lasting romance on reality television.
