It's believed Caroline was given a clinical assessment by paramedics when they were called to her flat on Valentine's Day, just one day before she died.

The former Love Island presenter wasn't taken to hospital.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Crews attended and, following a clinical assessment, the person was not taken to hospital. Due to patient confidentiality we cannot comment further."

Caroline died less than 24 hours later.

A lawyer for the Flack family confirmed that Caroline took her own life.

A family spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

"We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."

Flack was due in court on March 4.

She was charged with assault by beating after an alleged row broke out with her boyfriend Lewis Burton at her London home in mid-December.

Caroline pleaded not guilty to the charge while her boyfriend backed her and always maintained she was innocent.

Lewis poured his heart out on social media when he shared his grief in an Instagram post shortly after her death.

He wrote: "My heart is broken we had something so special.

"I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don’t think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking."

Caroline had been banned from contacting Lewis indirectly and directly ahead of her trial.

Celebs and fans have joined forces to mourn the troubled star's death on social media.

Social media has been awash with high praise for the star and heart-warming messages urging for more kindness in the world.
