Caroline Flack's friend posts big thank you to late star's family after funeral

Caroline Flack's friend shared kind words to the late star's family after the private funeral.

The former Love Island host was laid to rest by her family and friends after she took her own life aged 40 at her north London flat just weeks before she was due to stand trial for common assault.

Her pal Simon Michael Carroll expressed his thanks to her mum Chris and the rest of her family for spending quality time with everyone on the day of the send off.

The Talent Relations and Strategist Community and Membership Consultant accompanied his loving message with a carefree picture of Caroline in the pool and in a ray of sunshine.

He wrote: "Goodnight and god bless our sweet angel... Lastly -family is the cornerstone of any world that turns, Carrie’s was no different.

"We feel lucky to have spent valued time with Joe, Chris and your family. Often at times of grief things can be simple, or too complicated -what I know is that the ebb and flow, tension and resolve is ultimately born out of love.

"Whether it’s the family you were born into or the additional family you chose in life, you taught us all the importance of valuing and celebrating the here and now."

Simon vowed to always look out for Caroline's family following the tragic death of the star.

On reflection, he remembered the happier times when Carrie was partying at Glastonbury, holidaying in Dubai and Nice as well as chilling out at celeb hotspot Soho House.

The talent consultant cherished the joyful memories of the late presenter dancing and singing with her "hands in the air".

He said: "Reminding us at every point to always be kind. We will always be here for your family Caroline, as we promised.

"Our relationships with each other – will continue to deepen.

"We will remember you dressed in sunshine at Glastonbury, Nice, Petit Ermitage, Dubai, Islington and in any Soho house from London to LA.

"We love you Caroline, we will celebrate you in the quiet moments and always think of you with your hands in the air, perfect legs and really, really tiny feet still dancing - and singing at the top of your lungs."

Simon rounded off his message with the memorable and fun-loving lyrics from Rupert Holmes' song Escape, also known as The Pina Coladas Song.
