Caroline Flack's fans lay floral tributes at her home after tragic death aged 40

Floral tributes have been left by fans outside Caroline Flack's home after she was found dead, aged 40.

A lawyer for the Flack family confirmed that Caroline took her own life and was found in her east London flat on Saturday.

A family spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

"We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."

Fans of the Love Island presenter have been left devastated by Caroline's passing and there were a few poignant tributes left outside the popular host's home.

A single red rose was seen on the pavement while a bouquet of white and purple flowers was left by the corner of the front door.

Caroline was due to stand trial on March 4 after pleading not guilty to assault by beating following an early-morning altercation with her boyfriend Lewis Burton.

Her death reportedly came just hours after she found out that the CPS would go ahead with the trial.

Caroline had recently returned to the UK after spending time in Los Angeles in the aftermath of her arrest for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend.

She had been banned from contacting him during a court appearance in December but Lewis had stayed loyal to the TV presenter.

The ban had meant the couple were forced to spend Valentine's Day apart.

Yesterday, former professional tennis player Lewis had made a public declaration of his love for her.
