Caroline Flack's boyfriend shares heartbreaking post on Mental Health Awareness day

Lewis Burton posted a heartbreaking Instagram post today ahead of Strictly 's tribute to Caroline Flack.

The tennis coach openly addressed mental health battles on Mental Health Awareness day on social media on Saturday.

The former Love Island host took her own life aged 40 at her London flat in February earlier this year.

As Strictly are set to pay tribute, Lewis also took the time to post about mental health on his social media.

His re-shared post was a picture of a quote about mental health written by his girlfriend Lottie Tomlinson at a tube station in London.

The quote read: "No feeling is permanent & nothing lasts forever. Remember that on dark days.

"If all you do today is keep your head above water that's ok. You're doing amazing."

Lewis and Lottie bonded over their losses - after Lewis lost Caroline and Lottie mourned the death of her sister and mum.

Their romance has taken off, albeit rocky in places with their stormy fights taking centre stage on the Ibiza beaches.

Initially they kept their love story a secret after meeting at Caroline's wake three months following the star's death.

On Saturday, Strictly Come Dancing will pay tribute to Caroline in memory of the star who lifted the Glitter Ball trophy in 2014.

Strictly's Claudia Winkleman, Tess Daly, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli as well as former contestant Frankie Bridge will pay tribute to Caroline.

Ahead of the tribute, judge Craig admitted he broke down in tears over Strictly's "heartbreaking" tribute to "beautiful" Caroline.

In the Mirror Online's  Facebook Live, Strictly's judge showed off his sensitive side when he spoke about the late star.

He said: "I found it really difficult [to film]. When it came to the tribute to Caroline, it was so heartbreaking.

"I was just thinking how amazing she was as a dancer, and she also came on tour with us so I got to know her quite well."

He added: "She was just such a beautiful, beautiful woman and dancer. It was just heart-wrenching, and I found it really difficult to talk about her without welling up, I really did.

"I had to really get myself together for that one, because it was a shock to not only us and the people on Strictly, but to everyone who's ever worked with her, and of course to the audience that loved her at home as well.

"So I think a fitting tribute to a really special and wonderful person."
