Caroline Flack’s boyfriend Lewis Burton has defended the Love Island presenter against what he calls a “witch hunt”, following her arrest for assault.
Flack was arrested and charged with “assault by beating” on 12 December, following an altercation in the Islington home she shares with Burton.
Onlookers said there were six police cars present, as well as an ambulance.
On his Instagram Story, Burton wrote: “I’m tired of the lies and abuse aimed at my girlfriend. This is not a witch hunt this is someone’s life.”
He continued: “I have not signed any NDA. Why would I? Caroline is the most lovely girl. Loyal and kind. She doesn’t deserve any of this.”
Burton’s statement followed the publication of heavily redacted screenshots of a non-disclosure agreement by former Apprentice contestant Andrew Brady, who was once engaged to Flack.
Brady captioned the image, “#AbuseHasNoGender”.
A spokesperson for Flack said in a statement: “Any suggestion Mr Brady has made that our client is in any way abusive would be false and defamatory.”
Flack has yet to comment on her arrest or the charges against her, and is set to appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on 23 December.
She is still due to present the forthcoming winter series of Love Island, which remains scheduled to begin on 8 January.
