Caroline Flack's beau Lewis Burton 'won't press charges after lovers' tiff led to her arrest'

Caroline Flack's beau Lewis Burton reportedly won't press charges against his girlfriend after lovers' tiff led to her arrest.

The tennis player, 27, has showed public support for his love, 40, by posting couple pictures on his Instagram stories following the alleged incident.

Love Island's Caroline is reported to have cut her hand amid allegations she was involved in an explosive row with her beau Lewis.

Now a friend close to Lewis claimed the alleged fight the couple had was a "lovers' tiff" which "should have never ended up in the public domain".

A source told The MailOnline : "It was a tiff between a couple that love each other and should never have ended up in the public domain...

"He has not - and is not pressing charges. He loves Caroline and wants things to be back to normal as soon as possible."

The Mirror have approached Lewis Burton for further comment.

Lewis has appeared to show public support for his girlfriend as he shared a flurry of couple snaps to his Instagram stories.

The tennis player also added a heart emoji to the snap which appeared to hint he was standing by his partner.

Police arrested Flack for assault in the early hours on Friday following an alleged argument with her boyfriend at her London home.

Flack will appear in court before Christmas, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.

“Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating. She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December,” the police spokesperson said.

"This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man being assaulted. He was not seriously injured."

Love Island bosses are reportedly in crisis talks amid the chaotic fall out of Caroline Flack's arrest.

The alleged incident has called into question the presenter's hosting duties on the first ever winter series which will start on January 8.

Speculation is rife about which celebrity is set to take her place - with many of Love Island's former contestants lining up for the top job.

DJ and presenter Maya Jama and Love Island voice over Iain Stirling's girlfriend Laura Whitmore are also tipped for the position.
