Caroline Flack: Love Island host arrested and charged with assault after fight with man believed to be boyfriend

Television presenter Caroline Flack has been arrested and charged with assault by beating after a fight with a man believed to be her boyfriend.

The Love Island host was taken into custody by officers at her home in London, which she shares with tennis player Lewis Burton.

According to an eye-witness, the man was heard shouting "Bruv, I was normal until I met her" as police escorted him to a nearby vehicle.

Onlookers said there were six police cars present, as well as an ambulance.

A spokesperson for the Met Police told The Independent that, while the man's injuries were not "serious", he was taken to hospital and treated by paramedics.

“Caroline Flack, 40, of Islington was charged on 13 December with assault by beating," the spokesperson continued.

“This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man being assaulted."

Flack is set to appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday (23 December).

Her arrest comes days before Flack's due to fly to South Africa to begin filming on the winter version of popular ITV2 series Love Island.

It's currently unknown whether the charge will affect her appearance on the show.

ITV has declined to comment.
