Caroline Flack: Inquest into Love Island host's death to start this week

An inquest into the tragic death of Caroline Flack us to be held tomorrow.

It will begin at 10am on Wednesday February 19 at the Poplar Coroner's Court in London. 

The former Love Island host's body was found at her London home on Saturday February 15 as she prepared to face assault charges in court on March 4. 

She took her own life at the age of 40, as reports the Mirror.

It is thought Caroline had been assessed by paramedics the day before she passed but was not taken to hospital. 

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "Crews attended and, following a clinical assessment, the person was not taken to hospital. Due to patient confidentiality we cannot comment further." 

Caroline died less than 24 hours later. 

A lawyer for the Flack family confirmed that Caroline took her own life.

A family spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

"We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time." 

Flack was due in court on March 4. 

She was charged with assault by beating after an alleged row broke out with her boyfriend Lewis Burton at her London home in mid-December.

Caroline pleaded not guilty to the charge while her boyfriend backed her and always maintained she was innocent.
