Carole Malone Slams Migrant Hotel Costs and “Creeping Islamisation” on GB News

LONDON, UK — Columnist Carole Malone delivered a scathing commentary on GB News following revelations that the cost of housing migrants in hotels has surged to an estimated £4 million per day. The figures, first reported by The Telegraph, show a dramatic increase from initial Home Office projections.

The ten-year contracts, signed in 2019 with three private providers — Serco, Clearsprings Ready Homes, and Mears — were originally expected to cost £4.5 billion by 2029. However, revised estimates suggest the final bill could now reach £15.3 billion, prompting public outrage.

Malone expressed disbelief over the scale of the financial mismanagement. “How in God’s name do you get it so wrong?” she asked on-air. “He [Keir Starmer] lied about immigration to get into power. I don’t know how long Starmer can limp on in this job. The lies continue. It’s only going to get worse.”

According to the Home Office, over 38,000 migrants are currently being housed in hotels, while another 66,000 are placed in dispersal accommodation across the UK. Despite hotel housing representing just 35% of migrants, a National Audit Office (NAO) report found they account for nearly 75% of the total cost of asylum accommodations.

The contracts with the three companies include a break clause that could allow termination from 2026, though no decision has been made to date, told Daily Express.

Adding to the growing pressure on the government, more than 11,500 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats so far this year — a number that continues to rise.

Malone also caused controversy earlier this week by accusing the UK of facing a “creeping Islamisation”, following the election of 18-year-old Maheen Kamran, a pro-Gaza independent candidate, to Burnley’s Central East council seat.

In a separate segment on GB News, Malone expressed alarm over Kamran’s reported views on gender segregation.

“We live in a Christian country where men and women are seen as equals and the rights and equality women have were hard fought for,” she stated.

“It makes me sick to my stomach that someone is talking about segregating sexes in this country,” Malone continued. “The creeping Islamisation in this country is happening in front of our eyes and we must not tolerate it.”

Her comments have drawn sharp criticism and sparked debate on social media, with some defending her concerns about integration and values, while others accused her of promoting Islamophobic rhetoric.

As tensions mount over immigration, accommodation costs, and cultural integration, public and political discourse around the topic continues to intensify.
