Carol Vorderman shares throwback snap aged 20 with 'Deirdre Barlow' perm

Carol Vorderman joked she was inspired by Deirdre Barlow, Jon Bon Jovi and Cher for her 1981 graduation photo.

The former Countdown host joined in on the online trend of sharing a throwback snap of yourself at the age of 20.

Rocking some seriously curly hair, 20 year old Carol beams at the camera dressed in her full graduation robes.

"Graduating age 20," she wrote, "Engineering. Cambridge Uni.

"VERY bad perm. Inspired by Deirdre Barlow, Jon Bon Jovi with a hint of Cher #MeAt20."

Fans were loving the throwback, one gushing: "Another one who's aged beautifully."

Another wrote: "Like a good wine Carol. Getting better and better with age."

"Well you haven't aged one bit," a third fawned, "What's you secret?"

Carol recently made headlines when she announced that she would be donating her private plane to help the movement of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to NHS staff amid the coronavirus outbreak.

She's also done a stint on Bake Off for the shows celeb Stand Up To Cancer special.

Fellow competitor Kelly Brook joked on her Heart Radio show that Carol had sabotaged her best cake-making efforts as the pair got drunk on champagne.

"It's Carol Vorderman's fault," she laughed, "She, like, completely sabotaged me.

"Because she was drinking the champagne, and I was like, 'Oh, I'll drink some champagne' so we were getting it on while we were filming so it completely threw me off.

"I don't think she was actually drinking champagne, I think she was just pretending.

"You know, those kind of people who just go, 'Cheers, cheers' and then throw it over their shoulder and you're just drinking and getting drunker and drunker?

"I think that was what was going on. So anyway, I was like one cup for me, two cups for the cake, one cup for me, two for the cake, so it absolutely killed the sponge."
