Carol Vorderman objectified on Twitter after posting photo of new hair

Everyone knows that fabulous just-stepped-out-of-the-salon feeling you get when you've had your hair done.

Many people take the chance to snap a quick selfie to share on their social media profiles - and why not? Cue a flood of compliments on the new 'do from a few followers and you're feeling like your best self.

One of Bristol's most famous residents did just that last night (August 14) when she posted a few snaps of her freshly-coloured long blonde locks on Twitter, but amid the nice comments about her new barnet, Carol Vorderman was subjected to a barrage of lewd, crude, unsolicited comments about her body.

The TV host captioned the photos: "Do you like my new hair... Cos I do... Thank you AGAIN my lovely James @JrHairBeauty."

However, the post was almost immediately overwhelmed with followers posting lewd and creepy comments about the star's figure.

One person commented: "Fair play carol id love to of had a crack at countdown. I'd have to have 3 vowels and 3 consonants please UD AV IT."

"Jugs are better," another post said.

"Cracking set of chesticles," one commented.

Others made not-so-subtle remarks about the media personality's new look, with one person commenting: "Sorry did you say you had you hair done, bit distracted with the rest of you."

"Sorry Carol no matter how hard I try I can’t seem to get my eyes to go high enough to see you hair, there’s too many distractions," another said.

One follower wrote: "Funny enough your hair is not the first thing noticeable."

While comments about the star's new hair were few and far between, some followers did offer genuine compliments.

"I wouldn’t take any notice of a couple of comments I have read Carol. You look absolutely stunning and your hair looks fabulous," one follower said.

"YES!!!! Looks fantastic. Great outfit as well," another comment said.

And a third wrote: "I like your new hair too. It suits you."
