Carol Vorderman lets her new hair down as she prepares for difficult Mother’s Day

Not even a global pandemic can stop Carol Vorderman looking better than ever and she debuted her new darker hair.

Like the rest of us she now may not be leaving the house much any time soon, but isolation is no excuse for not giving yourself a new look.

The 59-year-old former Countdown presenter let her hair down as she arrived in Cardiff.

She was at the BBC studio in south Wales to host her weekly radio show and help everyone deal with the coronavirus.

Carol was her smiley self, cutting a relaxed figure in leisurewear and she made her way in to record.

Sunday is an emotional day for the star, like many others.

She lost her beloved mum Jean back in 2017 and said on her show on Saturday that this is a challenging time of year.

“I just want to say, I lost my mum three years ago and she lived with me for over thirty years,” she said. “And I loved her very much. My heart will be with her tomorrow.

“I’m going to have to go now because I’m getting all upset.”

Carol recently told MailOnline just how she keeps her famous figure: “I've always had a huge a**e,” she explained. “I promise I haven't had bottom implants. It's the same old bottom.“In my family, loads of us have it: the Vorderman A**e. My daughter Katie has it. My nephew has it. We're all sticky-out-bottom people.

“And I've been working out for decades, so the shape of mine is down to years of keeping fit. I walk seven miles a day and I try to do a 15-mile walk once a week as well, up the Brecon Beacons or along the River Cam. It makes me so happy.”+
