Carol Vorderman leaves little to the imagination as she waves goodbye to summer

Carol Vorderman left little to the imagination on Monday night in a trademark pose on Instagram that wowed her 256,000 followers.

The 61-year-old said goodbye to summer by donning a skimpy white sports bra and denim micro shorts as she revealed it'd be the last time she would dress in such a manner with the dark nights drawing in.

The former Countdown star has regularly wowed her fans over the last few months in a series of snaps that have shown off her famous cleavage and curves.

However, those days now appear to be over for the time being as she captioned her post: "SHORTS WEATHER. Officially over in this house....washed and put away today. Missing warmth already."

Within five hours almost 10,000 fans had complimented the mathematician, with one follower writing: "... you could make a blind man see again."

Another commented: "The fact you helped me study when I grew up and now I’m crushing on you shows how bada** you are Carol."

A third added: "I shouldn't have logged into Twitter before I took my blood pressure tablet."

A fourth declared: "So beautiful just absolutely stunning I am sure you still have plenty of beautiful and sexy outfits to show."

And a fifth said: "You really know how to excite. Don't you ever stop showing off the results of your gym sessions."

Carol shocked fans last week, meanwhile, by revealing that she is no longer monogamous and now enjoys living a 'freer' life.

She went on to add that she doesn't believe in 'The One', but instead believes in having multiple partners.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning on Friday, October 7, she said: "Our mothers told us that we should marry when we were still 18 or 19 or 20, so we grew up with that convention that you should find one partner for life. My view is not quite like that.

"Half of first marriages end in divorce, and nearly three quarters of second marriages end in divorce. So I prefer to live my life in chapters.

"I live my life in chapters, and you said and this chapter since I was about 50. So for the last decade or so, I've lived a life which is much freer.

"You know, I don't really want to marry again. I don't really want to live with a man again. Have to look after him all the time. But this is a time to break this nonsense taboo, which is a person should only be looking for one other person that satisfies everything in their life. That's hell."
