Carol Vorderman in tears over 'paparazzi harassment' outside her home

Carol Vorderman pulled over her car to post a teary video on Twitter telling followers that she had just been “harassed” by paparazzi outside her home.

The presenter who presents the Radio Wales weekend show said she was leaving her home in Bristol to travel to Cardiff when two photographers began taking pictures of the star.

First posted on Wales Online, the video shows Carol visibility upset with tears streaming down her face as she tells her followers about the incident which she said "frightened her".

Writing on Twitter Carol said: "When I walked outside of my front door this morning I was greeted by two not nice paparazzi....who had turned up at the BBC last week and I went in by a side door to avoid them, so they decided to harass me at home instead."

In the post, Carol said she would be reporting the photographers to the police, and posted her own video that she filmed of the paparazzi taking pictures as she walked to her car.

She said: "I came out of my house to go to my car first, saw them and said 'you're harassing me'.

"They were then after the 'cross Carol' pic. I went back inside to have a think and so I filmed them. There's one nice pap in Bristol who is respectful. Not these two. It frightened me tbh (to be honest)."

Carol filmed the pair and later pulled over during her drive to Cardiff and posted an emotional video showing how much they had upset her.

She said: "I am on my way to Cardiff to do my radio show and I have had to pull over. It has really upset me and I don't really get like that. I just hope nobody uses the photographs, that is all I am saying. Thank you for listening."

The former Countdown presenter, who is celebrating the first anniversary of her Radio Wales this weekend, also said she would report the pair to police later.

"I don't expect they (the police) will be able to do anything (not their fault and they have bigger things to think about) but at least then it's logged.

"Meanwhile....chin up and thank you for yr kind messages. They mean a lot."

Many of her followers posted on her Twitter account condemning the photographers.

@ger71987 said: “So sorry to see what these low life paps have done to you this morning. They are like vultures even more so during this lockdown. Keep your chin up, Carol.”

@gavmacn said: “What a bunch of consonant vowel consonant consonants.” in reference to the presenters time as the resident maths wizard on Countdown.

Even one of Carol’s celebrity pals, actress and singer Kim Marsh posted her support for the star, saying: “Oh no! Carol! I’m gonna message you darling xx”

However, not all of Carol’s followers were sympathetic.

Radio host Alex Belfield replied to her story: “I adore you Carol, but, respectfully, you constantly put out pictures of yourself & seek publicity.

“Isn’t it ‘fair game’ in their eyes & the law?

“Isn’t this the old school price of fame?

“A game you’ve loved playing for decades like below…”

But signed off his tweet saying: “You’re fab regardless. Stay stunning x”
