Carol Vorderman flaunts abs as she hits out at 'nightmare' country

Carol Vorderman has flaunted her toned abs and age-defying figure, while also having a dig at the state of the nation.

The 61-year-old showed off her stunning physique after enjoying a new workout on Wednesday. The former Countdown star posted a short clip on Instagram, showing her smiling while wearing a bikini top featuring the Union flag print.

She also wore denim shorts as she posed for the camera.

Carol told fans it "doesn't take much to keep her smiling". She wrote: "Evening. Just a bit hooked on a new stretching regime and kettlebell workouts.....doesn’t take much to keep me happy eh?! [flexing muscle emojis]

"I’m still flying the flag in spite of the current economic nightmare going on in the country....!!!!"

Many of her celebrity friends rushed to praise her. Steps star Ian 'H' Watkins said: "GO ON!!!", while former Corrie star Helen Flanagan simply posted two heart-eye emojis, to which Carol replied: "Missing you already".

It comes after Carol credited an unusual item for helping maintain her youthful good looks, saying she feels “on top of the world.”

Earlier this month, she revealed she has been taking a supplement for the past year which includes the ingredient spermidine - a chemical found in semen and foods such as mango, chickpeas and cauliflower.

It is said spermidine has been shown to support cognition and heart health, promote hormonal balance and improve hair growth and fullness. Carol said: “I think this is particularly important for those of us at an age where cellular renewal needs a little help.”
