Carol Vorderman cruelly trolled for her looks after giving free maths lessons to kids

Carol Vorderman has given away her maths tutoring for free to children who can't go to school.

But her incredibly kind gesture hasn't stopped the trolls coming for the former Countdown host, who has been hounded with abuse over her looks.

The 59-year-old usually charges £2 a week for her online programme The Maths Factor, which is suitable for children between the ages of four and 12.

But Carol decided to make it free because the majority of children cannot get to school because of the coronavirus crisis.

The programme features videos of Carol through the years going through maths problems and sums.

And some of the parents who are new to The Maths Factor have been leaving unkind comments about her appearance on Twitter.

One tweeted: "Carol Vorderman really needs to stop with whatever s*** she's putting into her face she was absolutely beautiful at one time now she looks like a bloody gerbil storing food shocking."

"State of Carol Vorderman," another posted.

A third said: "Woah what has she done to herself!"

However, dozens of fans rushed to defend her.

One said: "When people start doing lovely things for people online, for free, for your kids like Carol Vorderman is.. I'd probably go out on a limb and Say DONT SLAG THEM OFF..."

Another agreed: "She isn't obliged to give lessons and doesn't deserve people slagging off her appearance."

A third said: "I see Carol Vorderman is doing something excellent and people on Twitter are being a******s."

Mirror Online has contacted Carol's reps for comment.
