Carol Vorderman squeals as she dips body into freezing tank for extreme beauty treatment

Carol Vorderman feels like ‘less of a wuss’ after trying cyrotheraphy for the first time.

The former Countdown star, 60, documented her thrilling experience on Twitter as she told fans the benefits of the unusual treatment.

Cryotherapy is the use of extreme cold to freeze and remove abnormal tissue.

Doctors use it to treat many skin conditions - including warts and skin tags - and some cancers, including prostate, cervical and liver cancer.

The chamber itself is an individual, tube-shaped enclosure that covers a person's body with an open-top to keep the head at room temperature.

Most people recover quickly from the procedure and with little pain.

And Carol decided to give it a go in a bid to improve her ‘general health’.

Taking to Twitter, the TV personality shared a snap of herself immersed in the freezing cold chamber as she looked giddy with excitement.

While most couple would cringe at the thought of being blasted with freezing cold temperatures, Carol told her followers that she braved the cold and felt amazing afterwards.

The TV host breezed through the –196 temperatures, and admitted that she now feels like less of a ‘wuss’.

“Whoah. Just been in the cryo chamber,” Carol captioned the snap.

And after one fan quizzed the star on the benefits of the treatment, Carol listed them off.

“Supposedly general health, healing injuries, it lowers inflammation,” she explained.

“It was my first time doing it. It certainly does no harm and makes me less of a wuss.”

Carol’s cyrotheraphy fiasco comes after the star delighted fans with a rare snap of her son Cameron earlier this week.

The proud mum gushed over her 24-year-old son as he achieved his master's degree.

The doting mum-of-two explained how Cameron overcame "endless bullying" and has achieved an incredible result.

Taking to Twitter , she shared a special post to congratulate him, titling the tweet: "A story of celebration".

Alongside snaps of him as a youngster, Carol wrote: "My son Cameron was a happy toddler.

"Before and after he started school it became clear that he had severe special educational needs.

"No school would accept him. I was going to give up work to teach him but even I couldn't teach a child with his severe needs."

She added: "Cam went to a 'special school' for 5 yrs where they specialised in teaching children like him. Then he changed school to mainstream age 10 but still had additional specialist help.

“I knew he was super bright but that his development curve would be a different shape to 'normal.'"

Carol went on: "He got a first class honours degree in animation, and now he has just received his masters degree in animation and video effects."

She concluded: "I've learned so much from Cameron. I've learned patience and kindness and perseverance and strategies and calm. He's now THE MASTER. Children with special needs just have a different development curve."
