Carol Kirkwood shares BBC Breakfast last day update as she opens up on ‘hard’ decision

Carol Kirkwood has revealed when her final appearance on BBC Breakfast will be, as she gets set to leave the show after 28 years.

The Scottish weathercaster, 63, joined the BBC Weather Centre in 1998, before becoming BBC Breakfast’s main weather presenter in 2010, announcing her departure in January 2026.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday, 11 March, Ms Kirkwood said, although it was "tempting" to not leave, her last shift on air will be on 1 April.

"It's not an April's fools! I can't believe it's coming around so quickly," she added.
