Carol Kirkwood became emotional as she said goodbye to viewers in her final broadcast after 28 years at the BBC.
On Wednesday (1 April), the 63-year-old delivered her last weather forecast for the broadcaster, which she first joined in 1998. She became the BBC Breakfast’s main weather presenter in 2010.
Sitting down on the sofa with her colleagues, Kirkwood became teary as she delivered a message to viewers at home. “As for what comes next, well for once I don't have a detailed forecast but I do know this - it’s time for a new chapter.”
“Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives,” she said as her voice cracked.
