Thrill-seekers may want to take note of a new cruise ship launching in 2022, which will feature the world's first rollercoaster at sea.
Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled more details of its second Excel-class ship, revealing that it will be named Carnival Celebration and homeporting in Florida.
However, what's sure to be a hit with passengers is that the ship, like its sister ship Mardi Gras, will feature BOLT, an onboard rollercoaster.
The cool part? Riders can control the speed at which they go on the rollercoaster, with a competitive angle as speeds will be posted on a board after the race (perfect for families trying to beat each other's times!).
Now, this is on the deck of a cruise ship, so the ride will reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, but it looks like a lot of fun.
Munich-based company Maurer Rides is behind the design, which will also be onboard Mardi Gras, Carnival's first Excel-class ship launching in 2021.
Cruise ship Carnival Celebration is expected to make her debut in 2022, to coincide with the cruise line's 50th birthday.
The company has yet to reveal details of which itineraries she will sail, although they have said this is due to be announced "over the coming weeks", with sailings going on sale from October 2020.
