'Carnage!' - Arsenal fans go wild over talk of Wilfried Zaha and Nicolas Pepe double deal

Arsenal have gone from one of the potential laughing stock clubs of the summer transfer window to a team that could be one of the biggest winners come deadline day.

The Gunners are close to announcing a remarkable £72million transfer for Nicolas Pepe, with the club planning to pay the fee in instalments.

Add the acquisition of Pepe to the loan deal for Dani Ceballos and the signings of Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba and Arsenal fans are happy right now.

But now an astonishing report claims that Arsenal are still in for Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

It was thought that the deal for Pepe had all-but put to bed the Gunners' interest in the 26-year-old, who Everton have also attempted to sign.

However, a report from iNews has stated that Arsenal have 'not given up' on a potential £60m transfer, even though Palace value Zaha at £80m.

It's safe to say the veracity of the report is in doubt but that has not stopped fans reacting.

Some are just amazed by the attacking options the club would have if true while others are simply shocked by the notion this deal would be possible after landing Pepe.

Nicolas Pepe has been tipped to add a whole new dimension to Arsenal's attacking play.

Last season, the Ivorian scored 22 goals and set up 11 assists for Lille in Ligue 1.

If he can integrate himself into Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's partnership up front he could give the Gunners the firepower to finally return to the Champions League.
