Carlton's AFLW off-season turmoil continues, with No.2 draft pick Lucy McEvoy leaving them for Sydney.

The midfielder is the second big signing for the Swans through the league's priority signing period after they snared Collingwood star Chloe Molloy.

The Blues sacked coach Daniel Harford and their women's football boss Brett Munro also left after a post-season review.

Carlton finished 14th last season and the foundation women's club has only made one grand final since the league started.

"Our club is being very process driven in regard to what we want to establish with our AFLW program over the coming months, we know that will come with its challenges, but we are determined to move forward as a program, in order to put us in a position to launch into this next phase," said Blues football manager Brad Lloyd.

McEvoy, the second pick in the 2019 draft, played 33 games over four seasons.

"I'm very excited. It's an amazing opportunity to be playing for the Sydney Swans and getting up to a new state, new environment, new club, new people, all of it," McEvoy said

"After speaking to the Swans a couple of times, the program they have put together is really well run and the people they have in the program are really passionate about it."

The priority signing period ends on Wednesday and is open to the four newest clubs in the competition - Essendon, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide and Sydney.

After that the AFLW sign-and-trade period for the remaining 14 clubs runs from March 10 to 20.
