An Irish local election candidate has declared that his campaign will have “no posters, no canvas, no publicity”.
Carlow town candidate Bernard Jennings, who is an optometrist, added that there will be no photo on the ballot paper, and “no comment on issues of the day”.
Mr Jennings also revealed in a statement that he had decided to put his name forward in the local elections for “personal reasons”, and the exercise cost him €100.
He added: “In the unlikely event that I am elected, I make two promises.
