Carlow punter on a high after scooping €3m Lotto jackpot

Champagne corks were popping in Ireland last night after one punter scopped nearly €3million in Saturday night’s Lotto draw.

Bosses are urging players to check their tickets after it was revealed the golden slip worth €2.7million was sold in Co Carlow.

They are already the third jackpot winner of the year following the €7.7million win on January 29, which was shared by two players in Dublin.

The all-important winning numbers were: 14, 20, 24, 38, 41, 45 and the bonus ball was 3.

A National Lottery spokesman said it hopes to reveal the name of the winning store early next week.

He added: “We are now appealing for all Lotto players to check their tickets carefully to see if they have won a prize.

“With a Lotto jackpot win of this amount, it is important we inform the winning retailer and of course to give the winning ticketholder the time and space they need to let this truly life-changing win to sink in.

“If you are the winner of one of these incredible prizes, be sure to sign the back of your ticket, keep it safe and contact the National Lottery prize claims team as soon as you can on 01 836 4444 and we will make arrangements for you to come to the Winner’s Room and collect your prize.”

Since 1988, there have been 23 Lotto jackpot winners in Co Carlow who have shared more than €46million in jackpot prizes between them.
