A lucky Carlow resident turned €15 into a staggering €10,399 after placing a bet on the Lotto numbers in their local bookies.
The plucky punter, who wishes to remain anonymous, visited their local BoyleSports betting shop on Wednesday and selected numbers 9, 14, 24 and 29 for the Irish Lotto Plus 2 draw that evening.
Six numbers are drawn from a total of 47 in the Irish Lotto, and the bettor needed the selected four numbers to be drawn in any order to land the stunning win.
Amazingly, all four numbers came out of the drum, with the Carlow native defying odds of 7,500/1 to bag the big prize.
The wager allowed the lucky punter to return to the shop the next day to collect a jaw-dropping total of €10,399.
