Carlos Vinicius signing confirmed as Spurs make Dele Alli decision

Here is your Tottenham morning digest for Saturday, October 3.

Spurs confirm signing of Benfica striker

Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan.

The deal includes an option to buy should the 25-year-old impress in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho identified Vinicius as the ideal backup for Harry Kane earlier in the summer, but Benfica were originally asking for a fee of around £50m.

The Portuguese club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League changed their stance, and a deal has now been agreed that will allow Tottenham to sign Vinicius permanently for £38m at the end of his loan.

Tottenham make Alli decision

Spurs will not allow Dele Alli to leave the club before the close of the transfer window, according to the Daily Mail .

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly seen a £3m loan bid rejected as speculation over the midfielder’s future continues.

But it seems Jose Mourinho wants to keep hold of Alli, who scored on Thursday night as Spurs beat Maccabi Haifa 7-2.

PSG’s offer did not include a future option to buy the 24-year-old, which might be the reason for Tottenham’s decision to turn it down.

Striker to miss out on Spurs move

Metz striker Habib Diallo is set to miss out on his favoured move to Tottenham, L’Equipe have reported.

Spurs’ signing of Carlos Vinicius means they no longer need to bring in a forward.

The Senegal international, who scored 12 goals for Metz last season, could instead be the subject of a late bid from West Brom.

The Baggies boss Slaven Bilic is believed to be looking to add firepower to his squad, and the 25-year-old could be something of a coup given Tottenham’s interest.

Diallo scored 26 goals in the 2018-19 season and has been on the radar of several European clubs since.
