Carlos Vinicius' FIFA 21 rating assessed and how he compares to Tottenham star Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on agreeing a loan deal with Benfica for striker Carlos Vinicius.

More than 14 months after Fernando Llorente left the club on a free transfer, Spurs are finally closing in on a deal for a new striker to provide cover for Harry Kane, with the deal edging closer to completion.

football.london understands that Tottenham are trying to close a loan deal with an option to buy for £36.3m with Benfica for the 25-year-old, who scored 24 goals and laid on 13 assists in the 2019/20 campaign.

Spurs initially wanted to sign the striker earlier this summer but the price was too high. However, Benfica's exit from the Champions League has helped accelerate the deal for Jose Mourinho's side.

To give Spurs fans an idea of what to expect from Carlos Vinicius, we assessed his attributes on FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. This is what they told us.

Carlos Vinicius' FIFA 21 rating assessed

Carlos Vinicius' FIFA 21 Ultimate Team rating (EA SPORTS FIFA)

Overall rating: 79/100

Pace: 75

Shooting: 80

Passing: 57

Dribbling: 75

Defending: 41

Physical: 83

Position: ST

Age: 25

Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius has been given an overall rating of 79 out of 100 on FIFA 21, to put that into context, he has similar ratings to Spurs players like Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Danny Rose.

In terms of individual rating categories, the Brazilian's pace is the same as players like Eric Lamela and Davinson Sanchez, so he's not slow, but he's not particularly rapid either.

The 25-year-old ranks well in terms of shooting and physical ratings, with the striker having the same shooting as Dele Alli, and only slightly below Gareth Bale (84).

Physically, only Moussa Sissoko has a higher physical rating than Carlos Vinicius, which suggests that the striker is particularly strong in that area.

So how does Carlos Vinicius compare to Harry Kane? This is how the Spurs captain rates on FIFA 21.

Harry Kane's FIFA 21 Ultimate Team rating (EA SPORTS FIFA)

As you can see from Kane's Ultimate Team rating above, the striker is a world class attacking player with some impressive attributes.

Carlos Vinicius has a higher pace rating than Kane, and also matches the England international in physical rating, which suggests the Brazilian is an overall more mobile option in attack.

Kane has far superior passing and dribbling however, which shows how complete a player he is.

Overall, Carlos Vinicius has an interesting FIFA 21 Ultimate Team rating, as he's got high pace, shooting and physical stats, in addition to being 6ft 3in.

This suggests he would bring something slightly different to Jose Mourinho's side, offering a more physical option up top with decent pace too.

FIFA 21 has an official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020, but some editions will allow you to play FIFA 21 slightly earlier than this.

If you pre-order the FIFA 21 Ultimate Edition or Champions Edition on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC you’ll be able to play from October 6, 2020, with the Standard Edition allowing fans to play from the game's official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020.
